Pea balls

Raw vegan pea balls with herbs and tomato pieces from above

Who doesn't know them, the little, popular balls that are sold in that particular furniture store that starts with I and ends with kea

Of course, the universally popular Köttbullar is neither vegan nor healthy, and even the vegan version that now exists has nothing to do with healthy eating for me. Lots of fat, isolated foods (e.g. pea protein isolate, oil...), highly processed, simply not what I like to have in my body.

So I tackled the matter myself, to be honest, I'm actually not a fan of all these substitute products and alternatives at all. I think you either eat animal products (and get sick) or you don't. Since I don't, I have no craving for them and I'm simply happy with my vegetables and my fruit in all possible varieties.

But I know that many people are looking for something on their plate that replaces meat... since I support every kind of veganism and want to bring as many people as possible to a plant-based lifestyle, I came up with this recipe that will certainly simplify the transition to veganism.

Long story short, I think the balls turned out really well and therefore I don't want to withhold the recipe from you.

For approx. 15-20 balls

Several pea balls on a white plate with a floral pattern
  1. Put all ingredients in a high-performance blender or food processor and process into a coarse, still chunky mass.
  2. Form small balls from the mass, either enjoy them raw or dehydrate them in the dehydrator for approx. 4-6 hours at 45C*.
  3. Perfect with salad, as a side dish, as a falafel substitute, for snacking and dipping, as party and finger food...
